She will be 30 this spring. I got her as my first horse when she was 4. We competed with the Menomonie Saddle Club Drill Team for 20 years. We also enjoyed trail rides and parades. She came out of retirement when my daughter’s pony was stolen form our farm. My daughter showed her for another four years.

Skippa Bonanza

I bought Skippa (Skip)Bonanza in 1985,she was 8 then. Skip will be 33 next year, we have done all kinds a parades,been all over IL trail riding and camping,been to MO camping and trail riding. I don’t ride you much anymore, I let my little great nieces and great nephew ride her in a around pen,so she is retired some. She is the best horse I have had so far, I would decorate here up for all the parades,and we have won several of the parades. I am and still so proud of her.

I’m Princes Gem

Gem is our oldest horse on the farm. She will be 33 this coming spring. She has produced alot of awesome foals for us throught out the years. Also has started all our kids riding and also people that didn’t know how to ride. She still at her old age runs the show and is the boss in the pasture. Her last foal was a few spot POA filly she had at age 22.

Black Annie Hands (N-389876)

I’m entering this mare for owner Marian Alton who doesn’t have computer or internet service. Black Annie Hands is the last known living daughter of foundation stallion Hands Up (F-2217). She was foaled on April 26, 1973. Yes, she’s 36 years young! She was foaled in Claremore, Oklahoma, where she still resides, and was out of an AQHA Appendix mare, Buck’s Orphan (X-084896). Marian has been a life long Hands Up fan, first breeding a mare to him in the late 50′s when he stood at Eddie Wood’s place in Chelsea, Oklahoma, and continued breeding at least one mare a year to him even after he was sold to Nolan Hutchison of Missouri. She had three mares at Nolan’s place that never got bred when Hands Up passed on. Black Annie Hands is from Hands Up’s last foal crop. The attached picture was taken this past spring around Annie’s 36th birthday. She’s fed lightly 4 times a day, and misted a few times a day during hot weather, to keep her cool. If Marian Alton’s name sounds familiar, she helped Frank Holmes with his chapter on Hands Up in ‘Spotted Pride’ and also helped Jan Haddle Davis with some of Colida’s history in ‘The Complete Book Of The Appaloosa.’
